The Northeast Eagles overwhelmed the visiting Howard Lions softball squad by a count of 16-0 in Saturday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Eagles meet the Northern Patriots (Owings, MD) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, April 19. Northeast will attempt to upgrade on its 12-1 season record. The Patriots go into the challenge with a 6-6 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Broadneck (Annapolis, MD).
The Lions (6-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Long Reach (Columbia, MD). The Lightning go into the Howard County challenge with a 3-5 record. In their last challenge, Long Reach toppled Hammond (Columbia, MD), 11-2, in a league challenge.
