In Saturday's league game, the visiting Griswold Wolverines baseball team scored a tight 8-5 victory over the Wheeler Lions.
The Wolverines (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Putnam (Putnam, CT). The Clippers go into the Eastern Connecticut - North game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, Putnam by Windham (Willimantic, CT), 15-7, in a league game.
The Lions (0-2) will now prepare for their game against Plainfield (Central Village, CT). The Panthers go into the Eastern Connecticut - North game with a 1-0 record. In their last game, Plainfield tipped Tourtellotte (North Grosvenordale, CT), 10-1, in a league game.
