California High School Softball - Rancho Cotate gets by Pittsburg

The Rancho Cotate Cougars (Rohnert Park, CA) softball nipped the host Pittsburg Pirates (Pittsburg, CA), 7-6 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Cougars (4-3) will now prepare for their bout against Freedom (Oakley, CA). The Falcons go into the non-league bout with a 2-2 record. In their last bout, Freedom was edged by Clayton Valley Charter (Concord, CA), 8-2, in a non-league bout.

The Pirates now possess a 2-4 record. They play next when they travel to Heritage for a bout on Tuesday, April 5. Pittsburg will confront a Patriots squad coming off a 7-5 non-league win over Arroyo (San Lorenzo, CA). The Patriots record now stands at 1-0.
