Christian County Colonels (Hopkinsville, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Massac County Patriots (Metropolis, IL), 9-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Colonels now own a 8-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lyon County for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 2. Christian County will battle a Lyons squad coming off a 13-12 league win over Crittenden County (Marion, KY). The Lyons record now stands at 3-3.

With the loss, Massac County falls to 6-4 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Murphysboro (Murphysboro, IL) to battle the Red Devils in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio challenge on Monday, April 4. The Red Devils enter the challenge with a record of 6-3. Murphysboro won 10-9 in their recent non-league challenge against Anna-Jonesboro (Anna, IL)
