Union Cougars (Roosevelt, UT) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Gunnison Valley Bulldogs (Gunnison, UT), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now sport a 6-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pleasant Grove for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 2. Union will face a Vikings squad coming off a 15-3 league win over Lone Peak (Highland, UT). The Vikings record now stands at 7-5.

With the loss, Gunnison Valley falls to 7-8 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Juab (Nephi, UT) to face the Wasps in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 2. The Wasps enter the challenge with a record of 8-5. Juab lost 12-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Maple Mountain (Spanish Fork, UT)
