Stamford Bulldogs (Stamford, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Jacksboro Tigers (Jacksboro, TX), 5-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 15-3 record. They take the field next when they host Anson for a 2A Region I District 7 challenge on Tuesday, April 5. Stamford will face a Tigers squad coming off a 9-4 league loss to Hamlin (Hamlin, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 1-5.

With the loss, Jacksboro falls to 14-10 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Holliday (Holliday, TX) to face the Eagles in a 3A Region I District 7 challenge on Tuesday, April 5. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 20-2. Holliday won 17-0 in their recent league challenge against City View (Wichita Falls, TX)
