Jim Thorpe Olympians (Jim Thorpe, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils (Shenandoah, PA), 6-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Olympians now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Executive Education Academy Charter School for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 4.

With the loss, Shenandoah Valley falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Blue devils host Mahanoy Area (Mahanoy City, PA) to face the Golden Bears in a Schuylkill III challenge on Tuesday, April 5. The Golden Bears enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Mahanoy Area lost 18-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Pine Grove (Pine Grove, PA)
