Mt. Vernon Mountaineers (Mt. Vernon, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Potosi Trojans (Potosi, MO), 14-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Mountaineers now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to West County for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 2.

With the loss, Potosi falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Trojans host Central (Park Hills, MO) to battle the Rebels in a District 5 challenge on Monday, April 4. The Rebels enter the challenge with a record of 5-4. Central won 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Neelyville (Neelyville, MO)
