The crowd at Sunday's non-league match between the Moore Catholic Mavericks (Staten Island, NY) and the visiting Boyd County Lions (Ashland, KY), saw Moore Catholic's softball squad nip Boyd County by a count of 4-0.

The Mavericks now sport a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to LaSalle-Peru for a non-league match on Wednesday, April 5. Moore Catholic will face a Cavaliers squad coming off a 18-4 non-league win over Cardinal O'Hara (Springfield, PA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 5-1.

With the loss, Boyd County falls to 7-1 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Saugerties (Saugerties, NY) to face the Sawyers in a non-league match on Monday, April 3. The Sawyers enter the match with a record of 1-0. Saugerties won 11-8 in their recent non-league match against Albany (Albany, NY)
