Highlands Bluebirds (Fort Thomas, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Franklin Monroe Jets (Pitsburg, OH), 8-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Bluebirds now own a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Perry County Central for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 4. Highlands will battle a Commodores squad coming off a 13-2 non-league win over Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (Chardon, OH). The Commodores record now stands at 10-3.

With the loss, Franklin Monroe falls to 1-6 on the campaign. The Jets travel to Livingston Central (Smithland, KY) to battle the Cardinals in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 7-2.
