Middleton Vikings (Middleton, ID) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mountain View Mavericks (Meridian, ID), 8-1 in a league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 8-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Twin Falls for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 6. Middleton will battle a Bruins squad coming off a 7-4 non-league loss to Pocatello (Pocatello, ID). The Bruins record now stands at 7-4.

With the loss, Mountain View falls to 10-1 on the campaign. The Mavericks travel to Nampa (Nampa, ID) to battle the Bulldogs in a 5A Southern Idaho challenge on Friday, April 5. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 6-4. Nampa won 2-1 in their recent league challenge against Meridian (Meridian, ID)
