The crowd at Wednesday's non-league bout between the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) and the visiting Bunker Hill Bears (Claremont, NC), observed Alexander Central's softball team get by Bunker Hill by a final score of 1-0.

The Cougars (14-1) will now prepare for their bout against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies go into the Northwestern 3A/4A bout with a 6-5 record. In their last bout, Ashe County was nipped by East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC), 7-4, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Bears battle the East Burke Cavaliers (Connelly Springs, NC) in a Catawba Valley Athletic 2A bout, on Friday, April 4. Bunker Hill will attempt to better on its 11-4 season record. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a 4-10 record after their 10-0 league win over Newton-Conover (Newton, NC).
