In Wednesday's non-league match, the host York Dukes softball team scored a tight 8-6 victory over the Pikeville Panthers.
The Dukes (8-2) will now prepare for their match against Fremd (Palatine, IL). The Vikings go into the non-league match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Fremd tipped Libertyville (Libertyville, IL), 8-0, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Panthers battle the Belfry Pirates (Belfry, KY) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, April 8. Pikeville will attempt to better on its 3-9 season record. The Pirates go into the match with a 6-3 record after their 10-0 non-league win over Tolsia (Fort Gay, WV).
