Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Evansville Mater Dei Wildcats (Evansville, IN) and the host Apollo Eagles (Owensboro, KY), witnessed Evansville Mater Dei's softball squad tip Apollo by a count of 8-2.

The Wildcats now sport a 6-2 record. They play next when they travel to Castle for a Southern Indiana match on Thursday, April 21. Evansville Mater Dei will meet a Knights squad coming off a 9-7 non-league win over Boonville (Boonville, IN). The Knights record now stands at 13-5.

With the loss, Apollo moves to 6-7 on the season. The Eagles travel to Daviess County (Owensboro, KY) to meet the Panthers in a District 9 match on Thursday, April 21. The Panthers go into the match with a record of 9-3. Daviess County won 10-0 in their recent league match against Owensboro Catholic (Owensboro, KY)
