Coventry Patriots (Coventry, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Suffield Wildcats (West Suffield, CT), 9-4 in a league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they host Stafford for a North Central Connecticut challenge on Thursday, April 21. Coventry will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 18-0 league win over Windsor Locks (Windsor Locks, CT). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-1.

With the loss, Suffield falls to 1-6 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Somers (Somers, CT) to face the Spartans in a North Central Connecticut match on Friday, April 22. The Spartans go into the match with a record of 5-2. Somers won 6-2 in their recent league match against Rockville (Vernon, CT)
