Oxford Yellow Jackets (Oxford, AL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Pleasant Valley Raiders (Jacksonville, AL), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Yellow Jackets now sport a 6-12 record. They take the field next when they host Southside for a 6A Area 13 challenge on Thursday, April 21. Oxford will face a Panthers squad coming off a 10-5 league loss to Pell City (Pell City, AL). The Panthers record now stands at 14-13.

With the loss, Pleasant Valley falls to 18-15 on the campaign. The Raiders travel to Weaver (Weaver, AL) to face the Bearcats in a 3A Area 11 challenge on Thursday, April 21. The Bearcats enter the challenge with a record of 15-13. Weaver lost 11-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Woodland (Woodland, AL)
