The Sandia Matadors softball team scored 17 runs and limited the host Valencia Jaguars to 7 in the Matadors non-league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, Sandia moves its record to 11-8 on the year. The Matadors travel to Piedra Vista (Farmington, NM) to clash with the Panthers in a 5A District 2 game on Saturday, April 23. The Panthers come into the game with a record of 14-8. Piedra Vista won 10-0 in their recent league game against West Mesa (Albuquerque, NM)

In their next game, the Jaguars clash with the Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM) in a 4A District 5 game, on Thursday, April 21. Valencia will attempt to move on its 5-15 season record. The Hornets come into the game with a 1-19 record after their 22-0 league loss to Belen (Belen, NM).
