In Thursday's non-league battle, the visiting Providence Grove Patriots soccer squad scored a close 3-1 win over the Central Davidson Spartans.
The Patriots (9-5) will now prepare for their battle against Uwharrie Charter (Asheboro, NC). The Eagles go into the Piedmont Athletic 1A/2A battle with a 5-6 record. In their last battle, Uwharrie Charter nipped Forsyth Home Educators (Winston-Salem, NC), 1-0, in a non-league battle.
The Spartans (5-9) will now prepare for their battle against Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC). The Grizzlies go into the Mid-Piedmont 3A battle with a 9-1 record. In their last battle, Oak Grove nipped Trinity (Trinity, NC), 7-1, in a non-league battle.
