Kentucky High School Softball - Russell can't get by Boyd County

In Thursday's non-league contest, the Boyd County Lions (Ashland, KY) softball team held off the visiting Russell Red Devils (Russell, KY), by a margin of 14-13.

With the triumph, Boyd County moves its record to 16-4 on the year. The Lions host Greenup County (Greenup, KY) to play the Musketeers in a non-league contest on Friday, April 21. The Musketeers come into the contest with a record of 9-8. Greenup County won 14-8 in their recent league contest against Raceland (Raceland, KY)

In their next game, the Red Devils play the Greenup County Musketeers (Greenup, KY) in a District 63 contest, on Monday, April 24. Russell will attempt to move on its 8-14 season record. The Musketeers come into the contest with a 10-8 record after their 11-5 non-league win over Boyd County (Ashland, KY).
