Lakeland Hornets (Shrub Oak, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Gorton Wolves (Yonkers, NY), 17-0 in a league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pelham Memorial for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 22. Lakeland will battle a Pelicans squad coming off a 5-0 non-league loss to Tappan Zee (Orangeburg, NY). The Pelicans record now stands at 1-3.

With the loss, Gorton falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Wolves host Yonkers (Yonkers, NY) to battle the Bulldogs in a Section 1 II - A challenge on Wednesday, April 26. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 3-4.
