Voorheesville Blackbirds (Voorheesville, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lansingburgh Knights (Troy, NY), 7-4 in a league challenge.

The Blackbirds now own a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they host Mohonasen for a Section 2 Colonial challenge on Friday, April 21. Voorheesville will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 9-4 non-league loss to Guilderland (Guilderland Center, NY). The Warriors record now stands at 2-5.

With the loss, Lansingburgh falls to 0-9 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Cobleskill-Richmondville (Cobleskill, NY) to battle the Bulldogs in a Section 2 Colonial challenge on Friday, April 21. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Cobleskill-Richmondville won 13-1 in their recent league challenge against Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk (Ravena, NY)
