The Lewis County Lions baseball team scored 16 runs and limited the visiting Newport Wildcats to 0 in the Lions non-league victory on Saturday.
The Lions (10-6) will now prepare for their match against Russell (Russell, KY). The Red Devils go into the District 63 match with a 5-15 record. In their last match, Russell gained a win over Blazer (Ashland, KY), 7-2, in a non-league match.
The Wildcats (0-14) will now prepare for their match against Ludlow (Ludlow, KY). The Panthers go into the non-league match with a 11-11 record. In their last match, Ludlow was overwhelmed by Gallatin County (Warsaw, KY), 13-7, in a non-league match.
