Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the Jefferson Cougars (Shenandoah Junction, WV) and the visiting Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers (Buckhannon, WV), witnessed Jefferson's softball squad prevail over Buckhannon-Upshur by a count of 13-1.

The Cougars now sport a 20-6 record. They play next when they host Cabell Midland for a non-league match on Saturday, April 20. Jefferson will face a Knights squad coming off a 13-3 non-league win over University (Morgantown, WV). The Knights record now stands at 17-3.

With the loss, Buckhannon-Upshur moves to 10-13 on the season. The Buccaneers travel to East Fairmont (Fairmont, WV) to face the Bees in a Big Ten match on Monday, April 22. The Bees go into the match with a record of 2-14. East Fairmont lost 10-2 in their recent non-league match against North Marion (Farmington, WV)
