The Genoa-Kingston Cogs softball team scored 16 runs and held the visiting Rockford East E-Rabs to 3 in the Cogs non-league win on Saturday.

The Cogs now sport a 9-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host North Boone for a Big Northern battle on Tuesday, April 23. Genoa-Kingston will confront a Vikings team coming off a 10-3 league win over Rock Falls (Rock Falls, IL). The Vikings record now stands at 13-3.

With the loss, Rockford East moves to 0-9 on the season. The E-rabs travel to Jefferson (Rockford, IL) to confront the J-Hawks in a Northern Illinois NIC-9 battle on Monday, April 22. The J-Hawks come into the battle with a record of 4-6.
