Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the Pioneer Panthers (Royal Center, IN) and the visiting Whiting Oilers (Whiting, IN), witnessed Pioneer's softball squad prevail over Whiting by a count of 16-5.

The Panthers now sport a 9-2 record. They play next when they travel to Frontier for a non-league match on Monday, April 22. Pioneer will face a Falcons squad coming off a 13-0 non-league loss to North Judson-San Pierre (North Judson, IN). The Falcons record now stands at 0-6.

With the loss, Whiting moves to 3-6 on the season. The Oilers host Hammond Bishop Noll (Hammond, IN) to face the Warriors in a Greater South Shore match on Monday, April 22. The Warriors go into the match with a record of 5-4. Hammond Bishop Noll lost 8-5 in their recent non-league match against Hobart (Hobart, IN)
