In Thursday's non-league contest, the Arcola Purple Riders (Arcola, IL) softball team held off the visiting Salt Fork Storm (Sidell, IL), by a margin of 3-2.
With the triumph, Arcola moves its record to 9-8 on the year. The Purple Riders travel to Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] (Kansas, IL) to play the Titans in a Lincoln Prairie contest on Friday, April 22. The Titans come into the contest with a record of 1-8. Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] won 13-2 in their recent league contest against Cerro Gordo/Bement (Cerro Gordo, IL)
In their next game, the Storm play the Oakwood Comets (Fithian, IL) in a Vermilion Valley contest, on Friday, April 22. Salt Fork will attempt to move on its 6-7 season record. The Comets come into the contest with a 3-14 record after their 10-0 non-league win over Heritage (Broadlands, IL).
