West Virginia High School Softball - Jefferson gets by Austintown-Fitch

April 21, 2022: Shenandoah Junction, WV 25442

Spectators at Thursday's non-league match between the Jefferson Cougars (Shenandoah Junction, WV) and the visiting Austintown-Fitch Falcons (Youngstown, OH), witnessed Jefferson's softball squad tip Austintown-Fitch by a count of 3-2.

The Cougars now sport a 10-1 record. They play next when they host Musselman for a Eastern Panhandle match on Tuesday, April 26. Jefferson will face a Applemen squad coming off a 12-4 league loss to Hedgesville (Hedgesville, WV). The Applemen record now stands at 5-11.

With the loss, Austintown-Fitch moves to 12-2 on the season. The Falcons travel to St. Paul VI (Chantilly, VA) to face the Panthers in a non-league match on Friday, April 22. The Panthers go into the match with a record of 8-5. St. Paul VI lost 4-3 in their recent non-league match against Brighton (Rochester, NY)
