Virginia High School Softball - Nansemond River holds off Great Bridge

Nansemond River Warriors (Suffolk, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Great Bridge Wildcats (Chesapeake, VA), 2-0 in a league challenge.
The Warriors now sport a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they host Poquoson for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 25.
With the loss, Great Bridge falls to 5-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Currituck County (Barco, NC) to face the Knights in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 22. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 8-5. Currituck County lost 10-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Grassfield (Chesapeake, VA)
