In Thursday's non-league contest, the Nitro Wildcats (Nitro, WV) softball team held off the visiting Hurricane Redskins (Hurricane, WV), by a margin of 1-0.
With the triumph, Nitro moves its record to 13-4 on the year. The Wildcats host Wayne (Wayne, WV) to play the Pioneers in a Cardinal contest on Friday, April 22. The Pioneers come into the contest with a record of 0-12. Wayne lost 13-0 in their recent league contest against Sissonville (Charleston, WV)
In their next game, the Redskins play the South Charleston Black Eagles (South Charleston, WV) in a Mountain State match, on Tuesday, April 26. Hurricane will attempt to advance on its 9-4 season record.
