The Gillespie Miners crushed the host North Mac Panthers baseball team by a count of 8-2 in Friday's league bout.
The Miners now possess a 15-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bunker Hill for a non-league bout on Monday, April 24. Gillespie will face a Minutemen team coming off a 12-2 non-league loss to Carrollton (Carrollton, IL). The Minutemen record now stands at 5-8.
Next, the Panthers face the Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) in a South Central bout, on Tuesday, April 25. North Mac will attempt to move on its 11-2 season record. The Piasa Birds enter the bout with a 13-7 record after their 11-4 non-league loss to New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly (New Berlin, IL).
