The Southwestern Piasa Birds baseball team scored 9 runs and limited the host Staunton Bulldogs to 0 in the Piasa Birds league victory on Friday.

The Piasa Birds (12-6) will now prepare for their match against New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly (New Berlin, IL). The Vipers go into the non-league match with a 7-3 record. In their last match, New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly was overwhelmed by PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central (Petersburg, IL), 4-3, in a league match.

The Bulldogs (8-9) will now prepare for their match against Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL). The Hiltoppers go into the South Central match with a 2-11 record. In their last match, Hillsboro was overwhelmed by Greenville (Greenville, IL), 2-0, in a league match.
