Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) fans were pleased Friday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Hopewell Titans (Huntersville, NC), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Patriots confront the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, April 24. Independence will attempt to better on its 8-4 season record. The Spartans enter the challenge with a 10-5 record after their 9-0 league loss to Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC).

The Titans now have a 8-6 record. They take the field next when they host West Charlotte for a Queen City 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, April 25.
