Doherty Memorial Highlanders (Worcester, MA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Tantasqua Regional Warriors (Fiskdale, MA), 11-10 in a non-league challenge.

The Highlanders now own a 7-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Shepherd Hill Regional for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 25. Doherty Memorial will face a Rams squad coming off a 5-2 non-league win over Bay Path RVT (Charlton, MA). The Rams record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Tantasqua Regional falls to 3-4 on the campaign. The Warriors host Southbridge (Southbridge, MA) to face the Pioneers in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 24. The Pioneers enter the challenge with a record of 0-4. Southbridge lost 18-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Millbury (Millbury, MA)
