Spectators at Friday's non-league match between the Grassfield Grizzlies (Chesapeake, VA) and the visiting Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints (Suffolk, VA), witnessed Grassfield's softball squad tip Nansemond-Suffolk Academy by a count of 10-5.
The Grizzlies now sport a 7-2 record. They play next when they travel to Lakeland for a Southeastern match on Tuesday, April 25. Grassfield will meet a Cavaliers squad coming off a 13-1 league win over Indian River (Chesapeake, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 7-5.
With the loss, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy moves to 10-5 on the season. The Saints host Norfolk Christian (Norfolk, VA) to meet the Ambassadors in a Tidewater Independent match on Monday, April 24. The Ambassadors go into the match with a record of 3-9. Norfolk Christian lost 22-5 in their recent league match against Cape Henry Collegiate (Virginia Beach, VA)
