Lakewood Cougars (Arlington, WA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mt. Baker Mountaineers (Deming, WA), 7-6 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they host Squalicum for a 1A/2A/3A Northwest challenge on Tuesday, April 25. Lakewood will battle a Storm squad coming off a 7-2 league win over Bellingham (Bellingham, WA). The Storm record now stands at 2-4.

With the loss, Mt. Baker falls to 6-3 on the campaign. The Mountaineers travel to Bellingham (Bellingham, WA) to battle the Bayhawks in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest challenge on Tuesday, April 25. The Bayhawks enter the challenge with a record of 0-6. Bellingham lost 7-2 in their recent league challenge against Squalicum (Bellingham, WA)
