Walt Whitman Wildcats (Huntington Station, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Lindenhurst Bulldogs (Lindenhurst, NY), 10-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they host Riverhead for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 22. Walt Whitman will face a Blue Waves squad coming off a 6-0 non-league win over Connetquot (Bohemia, NY). The Blue Waves record now stands at 5-4.

With the loss, Lindenhurst falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Bay Shore (Bay Shore, NY) to face the Marauders in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 25. The Marauders enter the challenge with a record of 8-2. Bay Shore won 9-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Northport (Northport, NY)
