Mt. Vernon Marauders (Fortville, IN) supporters left the game thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host New Castle Trojans (New Castle, IN), 8-5 in a league game.

With the triumph, Mt. Vernon improves its record to 1-4 on the year. The Marauders host Frankton (Frankton, IN) to face the Eagles in a non-league game on Tuesday, April 22. The Eagles enter the game with a record of 4-2. Frankton won 2-1 in their recent non-league game against Shenandoah (Middletown, IN)

The Trojans now hold a 4-3 record. They play next when they host Cambridge City Lincoln for a non-league game on Tuesday, April 22. New Castle will face a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 6-2 non-league loss to Cowan (Muncie, IN). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 2-4.
