The Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars softball team scored 11 runs and held the host Pine Island Panthers to 6 in the Cougars league win on Monday.
The Cougars now sport a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Goodhue for a Hiawatha Valley battle on Tuesday, April 22. Zumbrota-Mazeppa will encounter a Wildcats team coming off a 15-9 non-league loss to Houston (Houston, MN). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-6.
With the loss, Pine Island moves to 4-5 on the season. The Panthers travel to Byron (Byron, MN) to encounter the Bears in a Hiawatha Valley battle on Tuesday, April 22.
