The Portland Panthers nudged the visiting South Warren Spartans baseball team by a tally of 13-12 in Friday's non-league bout.
The Panthers now hold a 17-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Montgomery Central for a 3A District 9 bout on Monday, April 25. Portland will face a Indians team coming off a 5-4 non-league loss to Todd County Central (Elkton, KY). The Indians record now stands at 8-8.
Next, the Spartans face the Glasgow Scotties (Glasgow, KY) in a non-league bout, on Monday, April 25. South Warren will attempt to advance on its 6-10 season record. The Scotties enter the bout with a 12-8 record after their 9-2 non-league win over Owensboro Catholic (Owensboro, KY).
