In Friday's non-league contest, the Athens Golden Eagles (Athens, AL) softball team overwhelmed the host Cherokee County Warriors (Centre, AL), by a margin of 6-0.

With the triumph, Athens moves its record to 23-8 on the year. The Golden Eagles travel to Thompson (Alabaster, AL) to play the Warriors in a non-league contest on Saturday, April 23. The Warriors come into the contest with a record of 31-6. Thompson won 14-3 in their recent non-league contest against Mountain Brook (Birmingham, AL)

In their next game, the Warriors play the Sipsey Valley Bears (Buhl, AL) in a non-league contest, on Friday, April 22. Cherokee County will attempt to move on its 10-12 season record. The Bears come into the contest with a 17-16 record after their 7-6 non-league loss to Gordo (Gordo, AL).
