The Fairfield Falcons got by the host Bremen Lions softball squad by a count of 3-2 in Friday's non-league battle.
The Falcons (6-3) will now prepare for their battle against Garrett (Garrett, IN). The Railroaders go into the non-league battle with a 2-7 record. In their last battle, Garrett was edged by DeKalb (Waterloo, IN), 21-14, in a non-league battle.
The Lions now sport a 4-2 record. They play next when they host South Bend St. Joseph for a Northern Indiana battle on Monday, April 25. Bremen will meet a Indians squad coming off a 9-0 league win over South Bend Clay (South Bend, IN). The Indians record now stands at 7-0.
Game Summary
The Bremen Girls Softball team took at 1-0 lead into the 6th, when the Falcons rallied with 5 hits & 3 runs. Bremen fought back to score one run in the bottom of the frame after Gretchen Willis doubled and scored on a Katie Moyer double. The Lions were not able to muster up another run in the seventh dor drop their record to 4-2. Mickie Shively had a pair of hits for the Lions.
