Waterloo Bulldogs (Waterloo, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Chester Yellowjackets (Chester, IL), 8-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now sport a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Alton for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 23. Waterloo will face a Redbirds squad coming off a 7-3 non-league loss to Civic Memorial (Bethalto, IL). The Redbirds record now stands at 2-11.

With the loss, Chester falls to 3-8 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to Okawville (Okawville, IL) to face the Rockets in a Cahokia - Illinois challenge on Tuesday, April 26. The Rockets enter the challenge with a record of 4-4.
