Spectators at Friday's non-league match between the Lord Botetourt Cavaliers (Daleville, VA) and the visiting James River Knights (Buchanan, VA), witnessed Lord Botetourt's softball squad tip James River by a count of 7-2.

The Cavaliers now sport a 9-1 record. They play next when they travel to Staunton River for a Blue Ridge match on Wednesday, April 27. Lord Botetourt will face a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 19-0 league win over Fleming (Roanoke, VA). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 13-0.

With the loss, James River moves to 9-1 on the season. The Knights travel to Alleghany (Covington, VA) to face the Mountaineers in a Three Rivers match on Wednesday, April 27. The Mountaineers go into the match with a record of 4-2.
