Spectators at Friday's non-league match between the Lawrence County Cougars (Monticello, MS) and the visiting Northeast Jones Tigers (Laurel, MS), witnessed Lawrence County's softball squad tip Northeast Jones by a count of 4-3.

The Cougars now sport a 2-8 record. They play next when they travel to North Pike for a non-league match on Friday, April 29. Lawrence County will face a Jaguars squad coming off a 9-2 non-league win over West Marion (Foxworth, MS). The Jaguars record now stands at 12-10.

With the loss, Northeast Jones moves to 2-6 on the season.
