Winfield Generals (Winfield, WV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lincoln County Panthers (Hamlin, WV), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Generals now own a 14-3 record. They take the field next when they host Nitro for a Cardinal challenge on Saturday, April 23. Winfield will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 6-0 league win over Wayne (Wayne, WV). The Wildcats record now stands at 14-4.

With the loss, Lincoln County falls to 14-3 on the campaign. The Panthers host South Charleston (South Charleston, WV) to battle the Black Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 23. The Black Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 13-3. South Charleston won 8-0 in their recent league challenge against Huntington (Huntington, WV)
