Russell Red Devils (Russell, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Paintsville Tigers (Paintsville, KY), 13-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Red Devils now own a 5-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pikeville for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 23. Russell will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 12-0 non-league loss to Bath County (Owingsville, KY). The Panthers record now stands at 3-4.

With the loss, Paintsville falls to 6-5 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Magoffin County (Salyersville, KY) to battle the Hornets in a District 57 challenge on Tuesday, April 26. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 6-8.
