Illinois High School Softball - Newark bounces Winnebago

The Newark Norsemen routed the host Winnebago Indians softball squad by a count of 14-1 in Saturday's non-league battle.

The Norsemen (18-1) will now prepare for their battle against Somonauk (Somonauk, IL). The Bobcats go into the Little Ten battle with a 6-5 record. In their last battle, Somonauk topped Earlville (Earlville, IL), 17-9, in a league battle.

The Indians now sport a 9-5 record. They play next when they travel to Stillman Valley for a Big Northern battle on Monday, April 24. Winnebago will meet a Cardinals squad coming off a 11-10 non-league loss to Forreston (Forreston, IL). The Cardinals record now stands at 4-6.
