South Bend Clay Colonials (South Bend, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Whitko Wildcats (South Whitley, IN), 9-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Colonials now own a 7-5 record. They take the field next when they host Glenn for a Northern Indiana challenge on Monday, April 24. South Bend Clay will battle a Falcons squad coming off a 15-3 non-league loss to West Central (Francesville, IN). The Falcons record now stands at 2-9.

With the loss, Whitko falls to 1-6 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Peru (Peru, IN) to battle the Tigers in a Three Rivers challenge on Monday, April 24. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 1-5. Peru lost 14-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Carroll (Flora, IN)
