Pope John XXIII (Sparta, NJ) followers exited the stadium in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their lacrosse squad top the visiting West Essex Knights (North Caldwell, NJ), 15-6 in a non-league test.

The now have a 4-4 record. They take the field next when they host Gill St. Bernard's for a non-league test on Wednesday, April 24.

In their next game, the Knights face the West Morris Mendham Minutemen (Mendham, NJ) in a Waterman test, on Thursday, April 25. West Essex will attempt to move on its 3-5 season record. The Minutemen come into the test with a 0-7 record after their 11-6 league loss to West Morris Central (Chester, NJ).
