The North Newton Spartans softball team scored 14 runs and limited the visiting Benton Central Bison to 0 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, North Newton moves its record to 6-2 on the year. The Spartans host North Judson-San Pierre (North Judson, IN) to clash with the Bluejays in a non-league game on Wednesday, April 24. The Bluejays come into the game with a record of 5-1. North Judson-San Pierre won 15-5 in their recent non-league game against Culver Academies (Culver, IN)

In their next game, the Bison clash with the Twin Lakes Indians (Monticello, IN) in a Hoosier game, on Tuesday, April 23. Benton Central will attempt to move on its 0-10 season record. The Indians come into the game with a 2-10 record after their 10-2 non-league loss to Lewis Cass (Walton, IN).
